"Ei mitään multa puutu" was originally composed for a mixed choir, to the lyrics by Simo Korpela (d. 1936). The lyrics is based on the Psalm 23 in the Bible. Thus it is a piece of spiritual music. The Korpela poem has two verses, but the melody goes through both verses, thus forming one entity. The melody is quite simple. Therefore the harmony has an essential role for the final result.
