Valpuri is a march melody that was originally thought to be played in outdoor festivals on the First of May. Nevertheless, it can be played in any other context, as well. The composer has clearly had in mind the great American marches. Also the views of some traditional jazz parades in the New Orleans style can be noticed. A small-scale arrangement for a brass sextet has been recorded for a CD in March 2010.
