Johann Ignaz Stranensky was a Swedish composer, conductor and clarinetist. He conducted The Swedish Royal Life Guards Regiment in 1792-1805. This march, composed in 1808, was dedicated to von Vegesack, a Swedishbaron and general, whose attempt to take back Turku from Russians failed. Afterwards he won in Lappfjärd. The work likely refers to those events and it`s also known as The March of Oravainen.
